Christmas fettuccine, bubbly and the holiday

My daughter  and I share so many wonderful holiday traditions, but this one is one of my favourites! The Holiday movie with Pasta! It’s funny because we didn’t even want to watch because we thought “jack black in a romantic lead no thanks!”

But one cozy Christmas night we made some of our favourite eggnog and gave it a try. Well we were in love !

Everything about that movie is perfect (even Jack Black)! Another fabulous Nancy Myers movie

After Jack Black tells Kate Winslet he’s going to build her a fire, make her Christmas fettuccine and pop some bubbly we just knew that had to become part of our Christmas tradition too!

So now we make our special Christmas fettuccine and pop some bubbly while we watch the holiday

Basic Alfredo sauce

-1/4 of butter

-1 cup of whipping cream

-2-3 garlic cloves

-1 1/2 cups of shredded parmesan cheese

-Fresh chopped parsley

-sprinkle a little nutmeg

-1/4 cup of pasta water

 Directions:

Melt butter sauté garlic on low heat add cream simmer for 5 minutes then add cheese .

While making the sauce boil water add a generous amount of salt to cook pasta, save a little water for the sauce. Pasta water always enhances the sauce so nicely.

Toss your ingredients together and pop some bubbly!

But not just any bubbly jazz up your holiday bubbly with sugared rosemary and cranberries

How to make Sugared cranberries and Rosemary

make a simple syrup (it's so simple)

-warm a cup of water with one cup of sugar until sugar dissolves

-remove from heat add cranberries and rosemary

-put cranberries and rosemary on parchment paper and roll in sugar

- refrigerate until ready to use then just pop in your glass for a festive touch to your bubbly!
