Simple Salisbury Steak

Whats for dinner???

That age old question! One day I was out of Ideas so I thought i'd try this , well I'm happy to say it was a hit! My son said "mom you really outdid yourself!" While I'm thrilled he loved it, it was sooooo easy! Its a great midweek meal.

So here is what I did

Patties

1 pound of ground beef

bread crumbs

a dash of ketchup and mustard

a few dashes of lea and perrins

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp garlic powder

salt and pepper to taste

Then fry patties in a deep pan until brown, remove and set aside.

Sauce/ Gravy

Add a heaping tbs of butter and fry 1 large onion and a two cups of mushrooms until soft then poor 1 1/2 cups of beef broth then 3 tbsp of flour let it thicken a little then add your patties back into sauce let simmer in sauce for 20-30 minutes, then serve on fluffy mashed potatoes!

My Favourite wine to Pair with a dish with lots of Mushrooms is a good Pinot Noir
