Tuesday week one ☀️

Let’s Do Better—Together

Tuesday’s Heart Reset

Isn’t it just heartbreaking sometimes, when you look around and see the brokenness in women’s self-worth?

You see it in the ones who’ve given up—who’ve quietly surrendered. You might see them walking around in pajamas in the middle of the day at Walmart. And maybe some people would judge that, but honestly? I just see women who feel tired, unseen, maybe forgotten.

Then you see the polar opposite—the woman with overfilled lips, lashes out to here, every inch of her tweaked and tuned. She’s not wrong for doing it—but often, it screams the same thing as the pajama pants.

“I don’t feel good about myself.”

I remember one moment so clearly: my daughter and I saw two women uptown—one glammed up to the extreme, the other beautifully understated. One looked like she was trying so hard to outrun aging, to prove something to the world. The other looked elegant, simple, and genuinely at peace with herself.

It hit us both at the same time: This is what healthy self-worth looks like. It’s not striving. It’s not hiding. It’s presence. It’s ease. It’s enough.

We Don’t Have to Keep Living Like This

Women everywhere are tired. Not just physically, but spiritually. Emotionally. Mentally.

We’re exhausted from trying to be the perfect blend of career woman, supermom, homemaker, bombshell, Proverbs 31 saint, and Pinterest queen. And somewhere along the way, we’ve lost touch with the beauty of simply being us.

I’ve seen the impact this has, especially on younger women. I have a lot of nieces—each one so different, so beautiful in their own way. And I’ve watched life come for their self-worth. I’ve seen their confidence get rattled. I’ve seen comparison rob them of joy. And I know what that feels like—because I’ve lived it too.

So what’s the answer?

We model it.

We go first.

We stop talking about “empowerment” and actually live it—in a healthy, grounded, beautiful way.

We show up as women who don’t need to compete, tear down, overdo, or shrink back.

We become Worthy Women—the kind of women who show others what wholeness looks like.

But We’re Not Going to Shame Ourselves for Getting it Wrong

We’re not here to relive every bad moment or critique the choices we’ve made. We’re here to say:

“Let’s do better. Starting now.”

Because the world’s way doesn’t work.

The extremes don’t work.

The body positivity movement has swung so far into the opposite direction that even that has become confusing.

So what do we do?

We go back to the Source.

We renew our minds.

We guard our hearts.

We stop looking at social media for identity, and we start opening our Bibles.

We commit to walking with God and becoming whole women—strong in spirit, gracious in word, stylish in presence, and grounded in truth.

The Reality We’re Up Against

The statistics are heartbreaking:

  • 70% of girls feel like they don’t measure up in some way.
  • 91% of women are unhappy with their bodies.
  • 81% engage in “fat talk” regularly.
  • And nearly every woman I know has battled feelings of not being enough.

But there’s good news too:

Strong friendships improve self-worth.

  • Emotional connection boosts peace and well-being.
  • And healing begins with intention.

Tuesday prayer

Lord,

Thank You for the grace that comes with age—and the permission to still grow.

Help me walk in quiet confidence, without shame for the past or pressure to perform.

Let my life model peace for the women watching.

Let my worth come not from how I appear—but from who I am in You.

Remind me that it’s never too late to bloom.

Amen.

Affirmation:

I carry wisdom and beauty. I lead with love. I am grounded, gracious, and radiant with quiet strength.

Summer Joie de Vivre

Today, let’s lean into beauty and ease. Just a few little rituals can shift the whole tone of your day.

  • Turn on soft music while you get ready.
  • Open a window—let the fresh air move through your space.
  • Wear something that makes you feel lovely and put-together.
  • Make yourself a pretty iced coffee (recipe below!)
  • Step outside, even for a few minutes. Breathe. And just enjoy the weather

Marla’s Simple Iced Coffee

1 cup cooled brewed coffee

A splash of real milk or cream

A little vanilla syrup or maple syrup

Ice cubes

Pour it all into your favorite glass, stir, and enjoy outside in the sunshine
