‘Tis the season for pasta

‘‘Tis the season for pasta!

My famous spaghetti

We live in the cold northern part of Canada so pasta and wine ease the sting of winter! Its a very therapeutic combo.

Everyone in my family absolutely loves my spaghetti and I’ve been told it’s the best spaghetti ever “I don’t want to toot my own horn but beep beep”

I hope you enjoy it as much as we do

What you will need

1 pound of hamburger lean or beyond meat

1 large can of Italian stewed tomatoes

1 large can of tomato paste

1 can of tomato soup

1/4 cup red wine

1 red pepper

1 green pepper

1 jalapeño pepper

1 onion

Garlic 4 -5 cloves

1/4 fresh parsley

A dash of cinnamon I do the taste test on this

1 tablespoon of brown sugar

Mushrooms ( I feel this is a personal preference some people love lots some people hate them all together)

If you have any fresh tomatoes throw some diced up in as well

Here’s how I put it all together

Brown your beef in a big pot until brown add diced garlic and red wine

In a separate sauce pan sauté all your veggies in olive oil until soft

Then add everything together in big pot including your canned goods

I like to simmer my sauce all day, so the earlier the better.

Also one important thing when cooking pasta is to put a good amount of salt in water to boil when I do a big pot I put 3 tablespoons of salt in my water.

Pair this up with a nice bottle of Zinfandel , salad and bread
